Thank you.Reading Time: 2 min 40 seconds Space time curvature's traditional analogy Space-time curvature is most often compared to the deformation or curvature of a thin sheet of fabric such as a depressed trampoline in the middle of which a child is standing. In this analogy the sun creates a curvature of space-time in the same manner as the child stretches the trampoline’s fabric. Then the earth is deviated by the curvature of space-time, as a marble would be by the slope or the curvature of the trampoline around the child. Space-time doesn't compare to the trampoline's fabric... Because the trampoline's fabric is material it controls, through physical contact and friction, the motions of child and marble. Now in the solar system, space-time and its curvature are not material! There is no correlation whatsoever between such an immaterial space-time curvature and the trampoline's fabric! A material by far sturdier than the trampoline's fabric would be needed to retain and deflect the huge mass of earth! There is a mismatch in physics' interpretation. The elements chosen in space, namely space-time-curvature and mass are not compatible and cannot interact with each other... The hint of truth in the analogy The analogy provides us a hint. In the analogy all the participants are material, they all are of identical nature. To make sense, the interacting participants within the solar system must also be of identical nature. With that in mind, since the cause of earth's motion is very likely the curvature of space-time induced by the sun, the interaction then occurs between the sun's space-time curvature and earth's own surrounding space-time curvature and not with earth's mass as believed in physics. In the solar system the participants are now all immaterial, and in the trampoline analogy the participants are material. In all cases the participants are now of identical nature, whether material or immaterial. In any given situation the participants are no longer mixed. A claim is made Because they make one in reality, (Newton's) gravitation and (Einstein's) space-time curvature are used indiscriminatly in the following. Gravimotion is the name given to the modification of earth's very space-time curvature while overlaping the sun's own space time curvature. The overall gravitation of earth (its over all surrounding space-time), otherwise perfectly balanced, looses its equilibrium while immersed within the sun's space-time; that loss of equilibrium precisely amounts to earth's motion. Gravitation becomes gravimotion! Gravimotion is an interaction in harmony with itself. Gravimotion's departure point only, or the assumption at the base of gravimotion's theory only dissents from physics' own departure point or assumption! Gravimotion's interpretation of Nature doesn't temper with physics mathematics for instance; only a basic assumption taken for granted in physics is questioned, and a logical alternative chosen. On the other hand this choice has dire consequences on the very laws of physics! Following this new path, the concept of mass for instance, is found to be useless. Mass doesn't exist in gravimotion's picture of reality! Physics remains nevertheless true to its mission Claiming that space-time-curvature/mass interaction does not make sense is, from physics point of view, irrelevant! Physicists as far back as Newton, and about this very subject of gravitation, clearly stated that the purpose of physics is to describe and not to explain. The primary goal of physics is to describe, not necessarily to make sense... And this is not specific to physics; think of Picasso's description of Nature! A new idea is challenging!
