Mikko's Phylogeny Archive

Welcome to Mikko's Phylogeny Archive. This is my private archive of various phylogenetic trees. Although many groups of modern organisms are already taxonomically or descriptionally well treated in the Web, there are still some gaping holes left, especially when treating extinct organisms. This site aims to fill some of those holes. In current form [2008-04-01] it holds nearly 5,000 pages, most of them cladograms (phylogenetic trees) or taxonomic listings. More...Last update 2008-04-01. The Main reason behind this rapid update is to fix the epidemy of broken links caused by the transfer of Archive from windows-based server to a unix-based one, which has a much more strict approach for a normal na upper case filenames. You shoul already notice the new location for the Archive. After a long and fruitful co-operation with the Finnish Museum of the Natural History, I'm now saying my grateful farewells to their servicies and striking new under a University of Helsinki webserver. Thus the subtitle of this new edition of the Archive is: “Episode1½ – The End of the Beginning”, which is to emphasis my growing hope of the database-based Archive in the near future.I would also like to apologize for the long silence during 2006-2007, which has been caused by such mundane things as day-job. I have hopes that this relaocation will mean a more frequent updates, since the pile of unreated papers is really growing fas on my desk. TreesAdditional informationMain groups of organisms Quick links:Bacterians (Eubacteria)Nucleic Organisms (Eukaryota)Green plantsMolluscs Shellfishes Snails squids & octopuses Arthropods Insects Vertebrates Sharks & Rays Modern birds Mammals Taksonomiaan perusteetFT Jyrki Muonan erinomainen johdatus taksonomian, systematiikan ja fylogenian perusteisiin Luonnontieteellisen keskusmuseon sivuilla. Phylogenetics Explanation of phylogenetic systematics in the Wikipedia – The Free Encyclopedia. Ecologically important(?) meteor craters – These craters are selected, because the impacts that created them, have presumably had important ecological effects, both locally and globally. Geological timetables – One of the key elements in understanding of the phylogeny and evolution of organisms, is the understanding their age and longevity.
